Labor Sync Service Disruption and Restoration

In an effort to be transparent, we would like to discuss the nature and resolution of the December 1st service disruption experienced by some of our customers.

Our Domain Name System (DNS) provider was the target of a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. This specific attack overwhelms the service with illegitimate requests for information indistinguishable from legitimate requests, making it very difficult to block the attackers.

Updates Coming to Labor Sync's User Interface

Here at Labor Sync we are working on revamping the User Interface (UI) to make navigation even more user friendly and intuitive, giving Labor Sync a new ‘look and feel’ with improved graphics and a simple layout.

This is a sneak preview of what we are developing.

We are enhancing the user experience by re-organizing and showing necessary information on a single screen, minimizing loading times and reducing the amount of wasted space.

Contractors Across U.S Bid for North Dakota Road Work

North Dakota's Department of Transportation is attracting excavating and road construction contractors from all over the country. How? By offering over $1 billion dollars in bids in 2014.

A good portion of the bids are for new road construction as the oil fields and natural gas wells are popping up all over the western counties of the state, though some are for maintenance and repair.

This year's budget is almost $10 million more than last years and last years was the largest road repair and construction in North Dakota history.

Resolution to Improve Green Building Policy is Passed by Ohio Senate

For over a decade, the state of Ohio has required any new school or school administration building funded by taxpayer money to meet LEED standards. 

LEED standards are federal building guidelines which require the use of both environmentally friendly construction methods and environmentally friendly materials in order to meet LEED certification standards

However, each state can choose whether or whether not to require contractors to meet these standards.

Arena Roof Gives Outsiders a Glimpse of 2014 Sochi Olympics

While Russian architects did a fine job constructing the beautiful Olympic setting, what they did with the design and function of the hockey arena, has people from around the world talking.

In and of itself, the Bolshoy Ice Dome is a beautiful building.

However, the Russian architects decided that a magnificent design wasn't enough. So, they decided to make the dome capable of putting on a light show at night during the Sochi Olympics.

Construction Industry Pledges to Hire 100,000 Veterans in Next 5 Years

The Bureau of Labor Statistics published an Industry Employment and output projections to 2022 article in December of 2013 in which it predicts the construction industry will grow at a rate of 2.6% annually.

Not only is that good news for the construction industry, it is also good news for U.S. veterans. Part of the White House's Joining Forces Initiative includes a pledge from over 100 U.S. construction companies to hire 100,000 veterans over the next five years.
